The Staten Island Museum shows a wide variety of history in Staten Island. The one department i'm most interested in is the paintings by Adeline Albright Wigand and Otto Charles Wigand. They both lived on Staten Island for the most of their lives and created multiple paintings in the Art section at the museum. Together they painted their family in separate portraits and for each tells a different personality of that individual.
The most interesting art to me in this department is the portrait of "A Young Girl". What attracted me to this portrait is the connection it has to the others but mostly because the girls shows an innocent side of childhood. This painting also tells viewers how young girls dressed & carried themselves in the 19th century.
